PUBLISHER RECOGNITION
The PNW Chapter has developed a process through which we can recognize publishers who value well-crafted indexes and respect the indexers who produce them
The criteria for naming publishers to the honor roll include:
- consistently utilizes professional indexers to prepare indexes;
- reserves adequate space for a well-prepared index;
- allows adequate time to complete a well-prepared index;
- provides adequate budget for a well-prepared index;
- pays invoices promptly
The publishers and packagers are recognized in a paid advertisement in Publisher’s Weekly. Press releases announce the Honor Roll to newspapers in all parts of the country. In addition, we recognize honored publishers and packagers at Wordstock and other book fairs
A personal letter signed by the PNW/ASI chapter president goes to each publisher or packager to notify them of the honor. The letter includes the criteria (above) on which the selections are based
Selecting and honoring our best clients each fall is an annual event. (View the Nominations Process)
